the majestic detroit

This is one of the worst clubs in have ever been to. By the end of the first party they had kicked so many people out there was probably 1/3 of the total crowd there for the headliner. The issue arose when I went for a punk show.

But I love EDM shows. I am normally a person who goes for cheaper drinks, but this $11 old fashioned was worth every cent.

Good luck! The ceiling doesn't drop dust and dirt all over you when the bass is too high anymore.

The Majestic is a great small venue in Midtown Detroit.

The bathrooms don't look post-apocalyptic anymore.Because it's still new, I'm being pretty forgiving about the state of the staff and communication. The VIP area behind the stage is spacious and the service was top notch. I like the atmosphere so I can see myself coming back in the future. Amazing sound system. .css-12anxc3{width:24px;height:24px;display:inline-block;vertical-align:middle;position:relative;overflow:hidden;top:-0.1em;fill:currentColor;}.css-12anxc3::before{position:absolute;display:block;left:0;}.css-12anxc3::after{content:'';display:block;position:absolute;left:0;right:0;top:0;bottom:0;}.css-12anxc3 svg{position:absolute;width:100%;height:100%;fill:inherit;display:block;left:0;top:0;right:0;bottom:0;}36. Can't wait to come back. Live across the street. I have a pretty bad foot condition, and standing for a long time puts me in a lot of pain. Bad attitudes could have ruined a great show.

The final construction cost of the building was $1,000,000. The renovations are beautiful. Our show was supposed to have the doors opened at 9:30.

"The food the drinks and atmosphere were just simply amazing!!! Both were great shows.

Is that irony? From a 5 year Detroit reveler avoid this place at all costs no matter the headliner or cheap ticket prices!

[2], The Detroit News engaged "The Human Fly" Harry H. Gardiner to scale the building's exterior in 1916 as a promotional stunt.

I decided to check out the show last night only to be reminded of the horrible transformation of a once laid back venue to a money hungry club looking for any way to squeeze a dollar out of you.

Since then it has returned to the moniker of the Magic Stick. The music here is often pretty good, the patio is nice during the summer, the led lights interior looks pretty good too. The Garden Bowl is the most historic feature of the cluster, which engulfs 4100-4138 Woodward in Midtown. Unfortunately, C. R. Mabley died before the building's completion and new owners used it solely as an office block. Also who wants to go to a party that ends at 3.59pm. Populux is atrocious. Gonna have a tough go in Detroit being racist pieces of garbage and hating on black people. Did I mention Chris my server was phenomenal!…", "We were barhopping and decided to stop in here.

Food, service, drinks, size of the venue.

Not looking forward to going back if any of my favorite artists perform here again. Most shows are General Admission, so get their early and stand in line outside with everyone else. The staff look like they don't want to be their and the best place sit down to rest your dancing feet is literally the toilet!

The sound is good and the space is really nice. It's really nice now, the patio is great, the bathrooms are still clean and not falling apart yet (like you see in most clubs).

My number 1 biggest issue - CHAIRS. It feels like just another sub-par techno venue cash grab. Populux had trouble in 2016 and closed temporarily after an apparent Twitter hack that caused some artists to cancel their shows after the venue appeared to send out racist tweets.

Yelp users haven’t asked any questions yet about The Majestic. No barstools, no outdoor seats, nothing.
I've been here several times for edm shows with no issue. They have something for everyone here. The Majestic's catering services are available for all spaces within The Majestic Theatre Center.

I would have loved to have tried…", "Best place for seafood in down town Royal Oak, yet somehow it's not as busy as most…", "One of the only restaurants you can get to without stepping foot into the MGM…".

Service was fast and easy. Bathrooms need some TLC. The small VIP section is off to the side, with a further view of the stage. The listing doesn't disclose an asking price for the acre-sized landmark, which includes the recently renovated Majestic Theatre, Garden Bowl bowling alley, upstairs music club the Magic Stick and Sgt. See all photos from Jessica N. for The Majestic. It contained 14 stories and stood at 68 m (223 ft) in height.

The overall layout is very different then any venue I've been in sometime. .css-1o5pw2t{width:24px;height:24px;display:inline-block;vertical-align:middle;position:relative;overflow:hidden;top:-0.1em;fill:rgba(187,186,192,1);}.css-1o5pw2t::before{position:absolute;display:block;left:0;}.css-1o5pw2t::after{content:'';display:block;position:absolute;left:0;right:0;top:0;bottom:0;}.css-1o5pw2t svg{position:absolute;width:100%;height:100%;fill:inherit;display:block;left:0;top:0;right:0;bottom:0;}.css-1o5pw2t:hover,.css-1o5pw2t:focus{fill:rgba(117,114,128,1);}. The whole vibe of this place is off. Pretty basic drinks and standard prices at about $6-$8.

You can park on the street but there is also an abundance of parking in a lot next door behind the venue connected to the adjacent Magic Stick, and Garden Bowl. I came here for Banks and for The Darkness. The space became Populux, a home for electronic music.

Waited some more, we weren't let in until 10:30. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to dance somewhere that is genuine, and looking for a break away from the high heeled and suited up crowd.

I'll take my business elsewhere. Pick up and delivery service for catering is also available. Arrived then.

[2] It contained 14 stories and stood at 68 m (223 ft) in height. I came here for Banks and for The Darkness. It pains me to see empty VIP sections in the area where people used to shoot pool, $2 strohs substituted for $5 pbr's and friendly staff replaced by people who won't give you so much as a "have a nice night" on your way out.

Before the pandemic, both electronic music and rock shows were on the schedule.

On the way in my friend lost her ticket on the street while being pushed by a bouncer who was kicking someone else out presumably for being too drunk. The drinks are over priced and this place has no soul. Your trust is our top concern, so businesses can't pay to alter or remove their reviews. The scene here is very much the Detroit techno scene, where you can dress casual, dance your butt off to actually good music, and be part of a diverse community. I went to 2 parties here over memorial day weekend and bouncers were walking up behind people and searching there backpacks while they were dancing (illegal). Oh.... And a fun environment. This observation deck offered unobstructed views for up to 12 miles in any direction, and was open to the public for a dime admission. We have seen several shows here and we are always quite satisfied with the experience. Beginning in 1907, the Majestic Building housed offices and a roof-top observation deck for the United States Weather Bureau for science and meteorologists performing weather observations. While going down the stairs next door I was blocked by a guard harassing other patrons for being in the way while she was.. in my way ..of exiting. The Majestic Building was hailed as a "fireproof skyscraper" and this claim was proven in 1915 when a fire broke out on the top floor and burned for two hours. If you are looking for good vibes look else where. Hot and eccentric refurbished night club located just outside of downtown Detroit.Formerly the magic stick this spot is more popular than ever! I'm not mad at you Populux....I'm just disappointed. When reached by phone Monday morning, owner Dave Zainea declined to comment. It's not his only bowling alley. The Magic Stick needed an update, let's be honest.

Is there really a reason to not have a single chair in a place where the doors don't even open until 10pm, and the show lasts til 2am? [1] The building was constructed in 1896 for the Mabley and Company department store chain and was the city's second skyscraper, following the completion of the Hammond Building.

The Majestic, overall, is a decent place to see a show.

You can park on the street but there is also an abundance of parking in a lot next door behind the venue connected to the adjacent Magic Stick, and Garden Bowl.

As a 21 year old woman, that was terrifying to witness. Need a professional sound guy to fix it so it travels less. The bouncer snapped at every person who was waiting to get into the droeloe concert... being vary offensive and off putting.
